The Tank Girl Army has arrived!

So I went to Venezuela to continue my own personal motorcycle diary…and it turned out to be much more. Motorcycles, bicycles, skateboards, and scooters are wonderful things to have. Fuel is cheap and economical, they are easy to park, and they can be quite flattering to a girl’s figure. TankGirlArmy hopes to act as a cataylst to encourage alternate forms of transportation while articulating that women are fearless, and therefore women belong on the alternate transportation circuit. It’s going to be difficult to take over the world…that’s why we have an army; a TankGirlArmy. Start up your engines:

Before knowing Spanish, somehow a Venezuelan was convinced that I rode motocross and that his new bike was safe at the top of the Andes Mountains. None of which was true… but worth the deceit.Photobucket

So I bought my very own Bera 200BRX, made in China.Photobucket

The fist day on the road, a LandRover tried to take me out…but he just ended up damaging his car.Photobucket

You can see where my handlebar was wedged, and could perhaps imagine the car driver’s foul Spanish words directed at me…none of which I cared to understand.

Had to get the neighborhood kids to ride. Start ‘em young! Adrian was angry to be on the back.

So he and I took on a project…

another ugly helmet.  Photobucket

We then used the leftover spraypaint to fix his bike up.

He likes his new bike…my work here is done.

That means it’s time to ride.

Turns out, there’s a castle in Venezuela. Who knew?

Cowboys really help out.

These two lucky ducks are named AJ and Doug.

Parking on the street was not recommended, so the matrons insisted that I pull the bike into the finely lavished hotel for the evening.

On the way home, I had to honor the memorial of the puppy.

…then it rained. Not just a little.

…to be continued.
